Privacy policy for your app

The statement below applies to the apps for Switzerland, all 26 Swiss cantons, and the USA. The German-language policy for Germany covers the Germany edition, including its optional ad-supported access. The following country editions have their own policies:

Overview

The Einbürgerungstest Apps are designed as local-first study apps for naturalization test preparation in Switzerland and all 26 cantons and the USA. The apps do not include third-party advertising SDKs or social tracking features. The Zurich app uses Google Analytics for Firebase only after explicit consent for anonymous usage and conversion measurement.

Google Analytics and Google Ads in the Zurich app

If you explicitly consent, the Zurich app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure app use, installs, verified in-app purchases, and the effectiveness of Google Ads campaigns. Google may receive a random app-instance ID, app and device information, a general region derived from a masked network address, interaction events, and, for purchases, product ID, product name, and price. The app links the Firebase variant without IDFA support, does not read an advertising ID, and disables personalized advertising. Firebase measurement remains off without consent. You can change your choice at any time in the app settings. Google's and Firebase's privacy and security terms also apply to Google's processing.

Information the app stores

The app stores learning information needed to provide its core features, including:

• answered questions, correctness, and review history;
• spaced repetition due dates and weak-spot progress;
• streaks, XP, ranks, achievements, and onboarding state;
• notification scheduling preferences and derived study reminder timing;
• purchase entitlement state, such as whether premium access is active.

This information is stored on your device using Apple system storage. If iCloud is available and enabled for the app on your device, learning progress may also be stored in Apple iCloud key-value storage so it can stay available across your Apple devices.

Basic app metrics

The Zurich and Aargau editions, and the USA edition with the choice described below, send limited first-party metrics to the developer's Cloudflare-hosted website to understand installs, daily active use, trial starts, purchase events and current plan distribution. The Switzerland edition and its cantonal variants (all cantons other than Zurich and Aargau) do not send these metrics. Events from the other editions use a random persistent install ID generated by the app and include the app edition, plan, purchase tier, app version, build number, locale, platform, iOS version, country derived from the device locale, and event time. The server stores the install ID and event information to calculate usage statistics. Cloudflare may process the network address to deliver the request. The events do not include your name, email address, Apple ID, precise location, answers or learning history.

Beginning with USA version 1.0.43 (build 2026101201), these metrics are off by default, including after updating an existing installation. They are sent only after you enable “Allow usage analytics” in Settings > Privacy. This is optional: all study and purchase features remain available when it is off. The USA app does not share these metrics with advertising networks or use them to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Earlier USA builds could send these first-party metrics automatically.

Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. The app receives purchase entitlement information from Apple so it can unlock paid features. Payment details are processed by Apple and are not handled by the app developer.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules local study reminders on your device. Reminder content and timing are derived from your local learning progress. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

What is not collected by this app

Based on the current app code, the apps do not collect or transmit:

• your name, email address, phone number, or contacts;
• precise location data;
• photos, camera, microphone, or health data;
• advertising identifiers;
• Firebase Analytics events without your explicit consent.

Sharing

The app developer does not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by Apple when you use Apple services such as iCloud, notifications, StoreKit, App Store purchases, or App Store crash and diagnostics systems. If you consent to anonymous measurement in the Zurich app, Google processes the Firebase Analytics data described above. The respective providers' privacy terms and settings apply.

Data control and deletion

You can remove app data from your device by deleting the app. If iCloud sync is enabled, you may also need to manage or delete related iCloud data through your Apple ID and iCloud settings. Purchases and subscriptions can be managed through your Apple ID App Store subscription settings. You can disable Firebase measurement at any time in the Zurich app's settings.

In USA version 1.0.43 (build 2026101201) and later, you can withdraw consent in Settings > Privacy by turning off “Allow usage analytics”. This stops new analytics events; requests already in progress may finish. It does not erase metrics already received. Per-install analytics records have no automatic expiry and are retained until deleted. To request deletion, choose “Request deletion of sent analytics” in the same settings screen before deleting the app. This opens an email containing your random install ID so we can locate the records; you decide whether to send it. You can also contact [email protected]. We use your request and install ID to delete the related per-install records. Aggregate totals that no longer identify an installation may be retained.

Children

The app is an education and study tool. It is not directed at children for the purpose of collecting personal information.

Changes

This privacy statement may be updated when the app changes. The “Last updated” date above will be revised when material changes are made.
